Since junior high, my friends and I have been always done some sort of dinner to celebrate the holidays. In junior high, we'd go out to a restaurant, as none of us could really cook or had any affinity for entertaining. In high school, we moved on to hosting dinners at our homes, and since graduating, I've continued the tradition (see past dinners here and here). Varying guests have come and gone, but the core group of attendees remains the same. It's nice to be able to get together at least once a year, as in all honesty, it's the only time that I'll see some of them. This year was smaller, but i'd say the loveliest when it came to decor and the actual menu. We gobbled down supper quite quickly (although it took me forever to get food on the table…my hostess skills are still miserable as ever) and proceeded to spend the rest of the night playing Cards Against Humanity, which is hilarious. Gabi and I (mostly Gabi) got pretty deep into the 'nog and the wine, which I'd say made the game even funnier.
And so, just like that, the annual dinner has come and gone. I can safely speak for both Gabi and I in saying that we are both truly grateful for our friends and family, and our friends who practically are our family.
The holidays aren't over quite yet though! Happiest of holidays to all of you and your loved ones from us over here at with wanderlust.

Don't be fooled—Samantha's hostess skills are wonderful.
